A three day event Celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III
by the Salcombe Town Council and its Associations

After the television coverage of the ceremony a Cream Tea will be served in White Strand car park from 3pm complimentary scones, jam and cream with hot and cold drinks
At 4pm a Great British Fancy Dress competition will take place to be judged and prizes awarded by The Winking Prawn.
From 5pm a flotilla of boats dressed overall will parade in the estuary viewing from Normandy Landing and Cliff Gardens. The best dressed Boat will be judged by the Harbour Master, Cameron Sims Stirling and the prize awarded by the Boat Store.

The day will start with a Civic Church Service held at the Holy Trinity Church Salcombe. Following the church service, the Big Lunch will start from 1pm at the Salcombe Primary School.
You are invited to come along with your own food and refreshments. Tables & chairs will be supplied for those who have reserved prior to the day for you to dress your table fit for a King. Or, please just turn up with a whatever you need for a picnic!
During the afternoon there will be live music from Ben Carr, The Salcombe Larks will also be performing, and an open mike set.
Traditional sports day games for all ages, bouncy castle, and space hoppers to make it a fun day for all. The Best Dressed Table will be judged, and the prize awarded by The Harbour Hotel Salcombe.
A Coronation Punch will be the Toast to the new King.
Wet weather plan
is to head to the
Holy Trinity Church. Entertainment will relocate there!

The Big Help Out is a campaign to showcase how volunteering benefits both communities and the people who take part. With that in mind Salcombe will be showcasing their volunteer associations in White Strand Car Park.
The RNLI, Young Youth Centre, Salcombe Information Centre, Salcombe WI, Salcombe Town Regatta, Salcombe Minibus, Salcombe Maritime Museum will be just a few of the associations exhibiting their work to encourage new volunteers to get involved. Salcombe will joining forces with 'Kingsbridge and Saltstone Caring' as a legacy to the Coronation.
Competitions
We are delighted to present our 'Great British Fancy Dress Competition' as part of our events! Participants can come dressed in their most creative and fun British-themed costume and join in the fun. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed, so make sure you look your best! Show us your Union Jacks, fancy hats, and witty puns! So, get your thinking caps on and start planning your costume now!
There will also be a competition for the Best Dressed Shop Window Display where the Chairman of the Kingsbridge, Modbury and Salcombe Chamber of Commerce Chairman James Spencer will judge and present and prize and Luscombe May will judge and present a prize to the Best Dressed House.
